1933 Hudson Essex Terraplane 6 flathead

In search of any and all information regarding one of these. How many were made? How many are still around? What is the average condition and value? My husband discovered one for sale and to say the least is infatuated. I would like to surprise him with as much info about them as possible:)

Contact my friend in the Hudson Club, Alex Burr  HEThudsontech@hetclub.org  Remove the HET, as it's there to confound the spammers.  He has loaded all kinds of info about this car (and all the others) on the HET website and he can tell you where to find it.

Asking for "any and all information" is a rather tall order!

I'd bet that if you went to your favorite search engine and typed "1932 Terraplane" you would probably get more info than you need, in very short order.  There are some sites out there, like Wikipedia, which have very through "general" information on Hudsons and Terraplanes.

Then, after you've discovered the basics about this car, feel free to come back and ask some specific questions.  A lot of our forum members will probably be able to answer them.

A book "THE HIISTORY OF HUDSON" by Don Butler has a lot of information on 33's you can use as well as all the cars Hudson produced.

This Model K coupe has been for sale in Pampa, TX for a few years and did not find a buyer because it is thought to be overpriced.  Now it has moved to Oklahoma at a different dealer but about the same price.  Yes, it is a nice original survivor car but no one will recommend that you jump into the hobby by over-investing on day one.  Would a sedan make your husband happy?  A survivor sedan in even better condition, same year, has also been on the market for about a year but the price has lowered a few times and is now reasonable.  Not mine - just reporting.

What were they asking for it.

If I recall it was like $24,500.

I would say by pic not a bad price.
  • That is a 33 terraplane, not a 32. and at $24,500.00 it looks like very good deal to me. I sold my 8 coupe for quite a bit more than that
