Intro
Hi,
I have to say that I stumbled into the world of Hudsons. A co-worker's father died at 80 or so and he was a Hudson guy most of his life. Long story short, I went and looked at his 49 Commodore Sport Coupe with my wife and she fell in love with it. She said this was a very different car compared to the cars of the day and she thought we should buy it, so we did. It was 100% complete with no modifications (except the interior, which was done very nicely but not original and the door mirrors).
I've had to do the usual stuff on a car that has been sitting for a while. Fuel tank clean and recoat, rebuild the carburateur, new exhaust system and get rid of the 8V battery.
I still have a bunch of questions about how things should be and thought your club would help.
Joe

Joe, ask away! Several days ago another new to Hudson man posted a very similar story. I am happy to say today he sent a link to a video of the Hudson running! Communication and connection is the reason for this forum.0

Joe you are in the right place. If a question can't be answered on this forum.. IT will be a tough one! I know on no "single make" car group that is this dedicated to helping other owners.. Where in this wide world are you located? ..Not that it matters, because there is probably a member within driving distance!
Is yours a 6 or 8 ? I have two 49's one of each.

Slip on over to http://www.hetclub.org and take a look. The unofficial motto is "Come for the cars , stay for the people"As I said ; a world like no other. Welcome to the Open Forum, Joe. I'm fairly sure that there is no question you could ask, that can't be answered by our knowledgeable members. As has been mentioned above, the H-E-T Club provides a vast clearinghouse of information and its members form a worldwide network that you can tap into. It's likely there is a chapter of the Club near you whose friendly and helpful members would be happy to help you. With any luck you can get out to some chapter, regional or national meets with your car in the next few years.
