1928 Essex radiator hose supplier UK

Hi folks,
Hampshire Hose Services Ltd (www.hampshirehose.co.uk; Email enquiries@hampshirehose.co.uk)
supplied me with straight 1 metre length of 2 1/4 inch ID (57mm) radiator hose, their stock number 57 RAD
for £20.44 plus VAT. Total cost £24.53. Very good price and service. I am not associated with the company
just a happy customer.

We have a place here in NZ called Para Rubber with branches scattered around the country for that hose and many other rubber based products including running board rubber, windscreen rubber stripping etc - very handy indeed.
Not sure how pricing compares but always good to have these places close by.
  • Glad you commented Ernie, may be you can help.
My 1928 Australian bodied phaeton has a windscreen that opens. The rubber that is inserted in the bottom edge of the screen and rests upon the scuttle when the screen is closed needs replacement. I don't know what the shape of the rubber is where it is inside the screen frame. Also as it looks original, I don't want to start pulling at it until I know more about it's fixing. Any advice welcome.
    Thanks in advance.
By the way, belated happy birthday to Geoff Clark if he reads this!

This is what I got from Para Rubber and is currently installed on the cars. Works just fine.
The next photo is of some (slightly different profile) I had acquired through a friend (I think Geoff Clark) which I am keeping for future use. I am not totally sure where he got it from but possibly K-Gap when they were operating.
I hope this helps and sorry for the delay.

  • Thanks so much for the photos Alastair. They make the profile very clear. I will see if I can find a supplier a bit nearer than NZ!
