Brakes work in reverse direction but not going forward.  Have very carefully followed the instructions in the internet article, "Bendix Duo-Servo".

Received help from a classic auto restorer but problem persists.

There is no easy fix apart from painstakingly setting the  anchor pins,  eccentrics and  star-wheel spreaders.  You must use a feeler gauge through the inspection hole to get the correct  clearance.   Too much clearance at the bottom will give you the effect of no brakes forward.    Basic settings are (in order).   Actuator slightly behind centre, with a slight gap  between it and the cam arm.  Loosen anchor pin nuts, and eccentric backed right off.  tighten starwheel  as tight as you can, then tap anchor pins, repeat.   Tighten anchor pin nuts, and back off starwheel until wheel turns free.    Turn eccentric so shoe just drags and back off slightly and tighten.   Turn star wheel until wheel just drags and back off slightly.  Good luck,
