pistons & rings needed

I am looking for pistons and rings for a 31 Essex super six. The engine was set up and even after soaking for a month with Marvel Mystery Oil I somehow broke rings and even worse, it broke some pistons. Does anyone know where they can be found or if they may be substituted with other pistons for a 2 7/8 bore? I'm learning how difficult it is to find parts for these cars but I'm not giving up on her! Also need seats (2 door sedan).

Austin A55 pistons will fit, with a thicker bushing in the gudgeon.  Otherwise try Dale Cooper at www.HudsonMotorCarco.com   or Egge Machine Co.

If you end up having to go the "new piston" route, it may be better to buy a complete set, since then you will have a better chance of balancing them all, than you would if you mixed and matched.  (Geoff can tell me if I'm right or not, on this!)
