AMC 6 cylinder fuel pump for Hudson 202?

The fuel pump is the same as the stepdown pumps. Many people have used the AMC pump. I think you have to use a thicker spacer on it. LHud0

My AMC friend is bringing me a new fuel pump this weekend. It is a Carter M6737, will see if it works. Thanks, David

L Hud is correct according to my "mock-up" of the M6737 on a 232-262-308 block/cam. Since the pump is spec'd as the same for the Jet/Wasp 202 as those others, one can assume that the spacer must be the same......which is true for the for the original pumps.
In order to prevent damage using the M6737, (like having the pump literally broken off of the block) I came up with 9/16" total spacer/gasket thickness. More thickness shortens the effective stroke and risks interference at the block opening, less over-travels the arm, possibly breaking the pump body.
The mock-up was done with an otherwise empty, inverted block so I could easily observe motion/clearances.

Frank, thanks for the information. This is going on the $100 Super Jet I found on Craigslist. I really believe this may turn out to be a good little engine. David

The 202 is a fine little powerplant, very worthy of the Hudson name. My wife and I drove our '54 'Liner to Colo. Sprgs last summer, logging about 4000 miles in the process. Aside from not getting along well with the altitude, it performed very well.
