What's your latest, Hudson, 'stuff' buy?

Mines a real hum dinger! I'm paying it off, but as soon as it's up on my back wall, I'll post pics.

Well, I bought a 46 coupe to save it from the crusher.  Sanity lapse.  Came with  a 308 all apart with the block stripped and cleaned.  Crankshaft had some rust on the throws from sitting around several years.  Had it ground .010 under.  New main, rod, cam bearings and rings. Pistons had been smashed but found 6 good ones in my barn stash.  Now all together ready for sale or use in my 46 Pickup.

Coupe will get the correct 212 from my 47 pickup that was replaced by a 39 254., and it will be for sale running and rolling with new gas tank, brakes, and good fenders but needing some resto work.

I'm pretty jealous of the neon kiwijeff. I had found a guy in Michigan who made a reasonably priced replica but his website has been down for six months. So far the only other decently priced replica neon is by a guy in New Zealand.
  • Wow, some nice stuff there already. This neon is costing almost $500 kiwi, which 90 of that will be postage. He dose plan on getting more made.
  • Well the sign is payed for, and hanging on my back wall in the shed. Now it's time to throw some cash at both Hudson's. The 29 needs to have two small jobs taken care of, and then it's all legal again. The 28 is kinda stalled for now, but I'm making plans for our next Summer. Here's a pic of the neon in the shop.

The sign looks great, if only I could one shipped here.
  • If anyone is interested in these neon signs, Google neoneffect. They do all sorts of neon, clocks signs, custom made stuff. They are in Cambridge New Zealand.

Floor pans for my 39 Hudson 112 pickup.  Made by Ken Ufheil - who delivered them to Lew Mendenhall (at the National).  Lew then brought them from the National to MD.  I picked them up at his home yesterday (the transmission 'hump' was not included in the deal).

My thanks to both Ken & Lew!

Looks like everything fits up pretty well.  That man is a gifted Hudson Resource !   With these parts now in your hot little hands, I suppose you are off and running on the restoration.  That's good !
  • Those are nice looking floor pans.
