REMOVE STEERING WHEEL>> '53 HORNET
I had to slightly index my steering wheel after incomplete alignment job !!!! So, here are photos of procedure I used. Posting to defuse thought intimidation if someone else must do it. Advise if additional info should be put in photo captions or whatever. Look at photos in order and read captions (beauty of Picasa)

This is great, thank you Richard for sharing. I'm about to undertake a steering wheel swap in the next few days and this is very helpful.0

On Hudson Power Steering cars there are NO shims at pitman arm/drag link. You can screw the end of the drag link in and out {after uncoupling from pitman arm}. But that is a very course adjustment, the end has to be rotated 360, and it is ALL trial and error. Tried that and wheel went off by about 45 degrees with one 360 turn. So, went back to where it was.
Oh, I like to photograph BEFORE I take it apart and as it is coming apart so I can put it back together. And, yes, I do later also to prove I did it ~~~~
Inovative dust cover, Ken, I use Gorilla tape; wish someone would cast rubber ones like are available for Fords.0 -
Ken, thanks for putting the shim adjustment on this post; needs to be here. Excellent photos.0
