Doc's Apple Blossom Meet, Front Royal, VA.
May 6, 7 and 8 will soon be here, bringing the 53rd annual Doc's Apple Blossom Meet to Front Royal, Virginia. If you have an interest in or just a curiosity about Hudsons, Essexes or Terraplanes, plan to drive out for one, two or all three days of this great springtime get-together!
You can read more in the flyer at http://cbc.hetclub.org/2016%20Docs%20Meet%20Flyer.pdf and learn the history of Doc's Meet at our website http://cbc.hetclub.org/DocsMeetStory.html
The weekend schedule is mostly traditional, with a few innovations:
Friday afternoon we'll gather for our potluck dinner, held for the second year in the open pavilion on the beautiful campus of the 4H Educational Center.
Saturday brings a choice of activities: either the morning drive to the traditional Winchester AACA car show (followed, if you like, by an afternoon trip to "Uncle Grumpy's" party in Bluemont, Virginia), or a driving tour to Strasburg, Virginia, to view the recently-restored showroom of the old Nash dealership there.
Saturday evening brings us back to the Educational Center, where we'll enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at the Center's dining hall. (We MUST have reservations for this by April 25.) We think you'll agree that the menu has improved substantially since the old days at the Fire Hall!
Sunday morning brings the all-Hudson car show and Hudson parts flea market on the grounds of Skyline Caverns, where our host has agreed to offer tickets to tour the Caverns at a substantial discount to Hudson enthusiasts!
If you have questions please contact Jon Battle at terraplane@verizon.net, or phone (540) 364-1770. Hope to see you in Front Royal!

Jon,When the firehouse was part of Doc's, folks would gather there on Saturday as well and have a flea market there on Saturday afternoon. Has a new gathering place evolved yet for Saturday whereas the same flea market/gathering place takes place?Unfortunately for me, Mother's Day creates a bit of a conflict and I'm not able to attend on Sunday. And without the Saturday flea market, I've not made the trip out and back, either.0

Thanks for this information, Steve. At this time we have no Saturday flea market planned. The fire hall had priced itself out of our range, and the new venue (the 4H Center) has only been retained for the time period of our meals there. I'm sorry you can't attend. Mother's Day has given us problems ever since the original "Apple Blossom" AACA meet started taking place on Mother's Day weekend, many years ago. (Originally the car show took place during the Apple Blossom Festival, on a different weekend.). But I will report this to the Doc's planners for possible consideration in future years.
