1935 hudson crank out windshield
Hopefully someone can help me out with the little info I have. My dad was in the middle of doing a few things to his Hudson when I passed away last weekend. One of the issues I'm having is the windshield is out of the car and the pieces are not together. If anyone would be kind enough to take detailed pics of the hinges and crank assembly for me so I can get it back together and sell it for my mom I would greatly appreciate it. Email is shawn.loar@yahoo.com

Sorry for your loss. I don't have a '35 to help you.

Thanks, also it a Terraplane 4 door.0

I'm very sorry to hear of your father's death.
I'm sure someone will be able to offer you advice on how to re-assemble the windshield and its crank-out mechanism. By the way, what is your general location? Possibly one of the forum members might have a 1935, and might also live near you. This would be a benefit in terms of actually seeing first-hand, the construction of the windshield.

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing.I have a 35 Terraplane that I am guessing would have the same windshield as your fathers. I took some photos of the windshield that I hope will get you started. I have never had mine off of the car but if I can answer any questions or you need a specific photo let me know. Is the glass out of the frame or is it all together and you just need to attach it to the car?thanks,Mike0

Thats a great start thanks. The glass is still in the frame. It looks like theres brackets in the middle of the a-pillars, so I'm not sure if he was trying some after market brackets. When I go back up tomorrow I will take some pics of what I'm working with. Thanks again..0

Sloar, if (when looking through all of your father's parts) you don't find the ones that work with the windshield, don't despair. I don't know if your father was in the H-E-T Club or not, but it's a great resource for finding Hudson parts and technical information. I'm sure someone can suggest some of the many vendors who sell used Hudson parts (and usually advertise in the Club newsletter), and you can contact them. There is a decent chance that someone has some of this stuff, it's just a matter of looking around. And knowing who to contact.

Thanks Jon, I know the parts are there. The windshield was installed when he bought the car. But just like everyone else, he couldn't leave anything alone. He was doing some upgrades to the car and for some reason he removed the windshield. I don't remember why, but I know he was putting new sound deadener and carpet in. Not sure what else. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Thanks again,,,,,,0

The h6.jpg chrome slider brackets are NOT for the Terraplane. Those are for perhaps a Model A Ford. Your only hinges are the two at the top of the windshield frame. (My '34 is same in that respect). The only opener mechanism is bottom center with the geared "scissors" mechanism.

If you look at the second pic, theres a little white electrical box in the way. Not sure what its for and I don't think it ever had the scissor hinges. Also theres no mounting holes in the bottom of the windshield frame.0
