Mallory part numbers

I want to find a vintage Mallory distributor for my 308. I am looking for the Mallory part numbers for the distributor, cap, rotor, condenser, and points so that I buy the correct stuff. Anyone have the numbers written down and can share?

Thank you Ken, You gave me more info than I even knew I needed.
  • Ken, my dist. is also a 4009B. I have no problem with my vac. advance; just thought the 2023RN might be worthwhile. Maybe not 'til the stock goes bad??

But know about the advantage of dual points from decades ago. I am running a souped up coil, probably 40kv. Have 6A MDS and others on shelf if recommended??  What condenser do you recommend since I would have to relocate anyway. Assume I do all this w/o pulling Dist?? Thanks~~& tks, Chris, for the slight diversion.

And to add to the list of options, I just had Pertronix put one of their units into an older Mallory.  So no points or condenser here.  Although I did leave it in place because it looks cool.  Always lots of options.

  • I just grabbed a really nice Mallory ZC off The HAMB 20 minutes ago.  Looking forward to testing it and comparing between the Pertronix when I get some play time. Also curious to know the Pertronix kit number for the ZC.

There is no off the shelf number for Pertronix conversion.  So you need to take it in or send them the distributer and they will fit a unit for you.  About $250 for a custom unit or to fit a distributer that is not on their list.  They are just a few miles away from me so I take it in.  They are really no set up to deal with walk ins but you make do.  Eventually or if they see a large enough market they will add the kit to the list.  So they may add the kit at some point based on my conversion, and maybe not......
