54 Hornet water temp sending unit and thermostat?

I have two questions.  First, does anyone know where I can get a replacement water temp sending unit?  This would be for a stock 6-volt system.

Secondly, I am having an issue where my car takes FOREVER to warm up so that I can drive it without stalling.  My dad said that perhaps the thermostat was bad.  I'll admit that I didn't even know what a thermostat was or did in the car, but it made sense once he explained it... LOL.  Anyway, I pulled the radiator cap and sure enough, the coolant was circulating right as I started the car up...

Soooo, either the thermostat is stuck in the "open" position, or the car doesn't have one to begin with. 

So, my second question is, does the 54 Hornet have a thermostat, and where can I get a replacement along with the gasket for the housing?

I have both parts for your car. The origional style water temp sending unit and the origional type thermostat. Gasket as well. Seven zero four 792 9110.
