    I've found it as fitting a 1956 Hornet with Hydra-Matic

    That starter is  a  12 volt model for a  1956 Hudson series 60 with hydramatic. This is the only vehicle it was listed for. Your starter was made in August of 1955. Dosen't matter what engine .

    So, in theory, this should work fine a 53 Hornet w/Hydramatic that has been converted to 12 volt?

    Can I switch out Bendix's from original starter to solve that problem? That seems like a PITA. I had a guy in Germany call me looking for a 12 volt starter for a 308. Maybe you know him....Marcel Krieg. I have a couple of these from a 56 but don't want to send it if is going to not work.

    THE STARTER YOUR TALKING ABOUT WILL NOT WORK ON A 48 TO 54 HUDSON 6 AS THE CRANK SHAFT IS 1/2 SHORTER ON THE STARTER YOUR TALKING ABOUT THE 55 56 HUDSON CRANK IS SHORTER
