wheel cap

I am not a car collector or own any oldies. I go picking for vintage and antique items. I have run across numerous wheel hubs and have kept many that are unusual or classic types. I just ran across this one posted but cannot find any like it on any website or online store. Has anyone ever seen one and did it attach to an actual Hudson automobile. My kids love the Hudson Hornet from the movie Cars. Most important is a value on this piece if anyone has an estimate. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that's for a 1939 Hudson, the larger model (as opposed to the short-wheelbase "112" model). Here's a photo of one. You can see the hubcap if you look carefully.
I'm afraid that your hubcap, given its condition, isn't worth a lot. Maybe $4 or $5. The chrome is faded and it's dented. In order to bring that hubcap back to like-new condition, a restorer would have to drop an awful lot of money on it. As a fun thing, though -- say, as a wall decoration for your kids' room -- it would great!
