Towing A Hudson with the OD

Is there anything special that needs to be done?

Looking to tow it behind my MH. I have a dolly so the rear tires will be on the ground.

Would it matter if the cable is in or out with the trans in neutral while towing?

The Hudson manual says" ... before towing pull the OD cable all the way out ."

If towing a considerable distance I would recommend removing the drive shaft.

Thanks, I still haven't found any reference in the owners or service manual and went thru 2 pages of search results here?

If it is a Jet, you will lose some transmission oil with the drive shaft out, but that is better than wearing out the needle rollers and output shaft, etc.

That explains it. I was reading my 49 owners manual.

Tow it so the front wheels are on the ground, not the rears. Tie the steering wheel tight to the door frame.
I have towed numerous Rear Wheel Drive cars this way, once a Rear Wheel Drive Toyota Corona station wagon fully loaded with stuff all the way from California to Florida. No problem at all.
