Hudson or Essex
Hello from NC
Recently obtained a 2 door rumble seat coupe that was rodded thirty plus year ago. Top was unfortunately chopped but a surface rust only body. Titled as 31 Essex but does not have suicide doors as most pics of Essex has. Did Essex have front piano hinged doors in 31 as titled and frame # or do I have a Hudson body.(No plate on firewall)
Been searching the forum for the answers but decided to post and ask the pros.
Thanks,
Harry

'30 and '31 Essex and Hudson used same bodies, and have the hinges on the front pillar.0

You could post a photo of your car here, Harry, for further corroboration of the year.
Meanwhile....welcome to the forum! (I should do my duty here and ask if you're aware of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club. The website is at http://www.hetclub.org/ )
There. I've done my duty.

Look in the History of Hudson book by Don Butler for hints. Lots of photos there.
