Neutral Safety Switch?
53 Hornet Hydramatic .........The 2 wires leading to the neutral safety switch (NSS) were fastened to the same terminal thereby bypassing the function of the NSS. Can't figure out why the NSS was bypassed as it seems to have continuity in the neutral shift position. There is a wire that comes out of the shift column that is frayed and may be grounding out on the column. It leads into the wire harness. Is this wire part of the NSS circuit? Is there a source for a large wiring diagram for the 53? Those I have found so far are hard to read even with a magnifying glass.

Joe:I took my small print wiring diagram to Staple & had them print out a large print version on a 19" x 29" paper. It made it so much easier to read.regardsJ0

Joe,Take the diagram from your owner manual to Office Max, or similar. Have them enlarge it and then laminateit. Easy to read, and durable!"Ric"0
