moving on to wiring - first of many questions I am sure! basic parts for a simple sanity check

hey all,

my buddy Derek is coming up next week to see if we can get the ol Hudson 8 cyl to fire off.  I am trying to gather some spare parts just in case including plugs, points, etc.

Keeping in mind that the car has sat for 50 plus years (tho the plugs and wires look newer), are there any lists of part numbers for points, wires, etc?  I will be converting to 12v so I will get a new 12v coil and a ballast resistor as well as a starter solenoid.  Can I use any old 12v points?  Sorry this is rudimentary, I just don't want to destroy anything!
