On stepdown axles are one of the nuts reverse threaded?

    The axles are right-hand thread but the bolts on the left side may be left-hand.

    J, bolts and nuts are right hand threaded. Chrysler had the left hand threads Uncle Josh.

    thanks for your help guys. I'm having a heck of a time with the drivers side axle nut so I thought maybe I was trying to loosen it backwards. So right hand threaded it is. I'll just have to get a long steel pipe to slip over my breaker bar and give it a good heave ho!

    I had a 49 Hudson that had LH threads and my Jeep trucks do
