Unsure of year

I was told it was a 1929, but unsure. Couldn't really tell from the vin plate either since there was no model #

It's a 1927 Essex Super Six Coach.

Any other info you can tell me from the vin plate would be nice. I'm just curious and interested more then anything

From the picture it looks like a fairly nice body.

In general the Hudson serial number told only the model of car (Super Six, Terraplane Deluxe, etc.) and the sequence of manufacture.  It's not a "VIN" in the modern sense of the word, with all sorts of information about the car.

Yeah the body is actually in really good shape. The pic I posted is actually of the bad side, nothing is rusted though except in one spot and it's pretty small considering it was laying on that side in a field for who knows how long??? As you can tell it also has a few bullet holes Thanks John for the info. So if I was to have just found that vin plate laying in a field. How could I have figured out it came off of a super 6? Is a number sequence?

Both the Serial number and the eyeballing of the photo gave me I.D.  of the body.   To confirm I looked up Butlers "History of Hudson" and  found the numbers for 1927 Essex therein.
