Anyone have any suggestions as to where the best place is to buy tires and tubes for my 39?

I put 600x16's from Lucas Tire on my 39 and I'm very satisfied.

OK thank you, I was looking at the good year 600x16 all weather white wall. I think good year would have been original. But not sure

You should consider whether you intend to primarily "drive", or "show", the car.  I had the Goodyear All-Weathers for maybe 15 years (ran the tread right off one or two of them!) and loved "the look".  Most authentic you can buy (in black or whitewall).  But, if you plan to do a lot of driving you should consider the radial version.  They won't look as cool but both the Coker and Diamondback have decent-sized whitewalls.  The biggest improvement for me is in running Interstates with my '37; I don't get caught in the annoying "truckers ruts" anymore.

If you stick with the Goodyears, consider moving up one size, for a better ride and better control.  I moved from a 600 x 16 up to a 650 with a definitely improvement in ride.  One tire rubbed slightly on the drag link but that was probably because I had my mechanic straighten it 45 years ago, because I didn't realize it was supposed to be bent!

Thank you Jon I will consider that as I do want to do some freeway driving. So 650 x 16 may be the better bet.
But I will also check out diamondback.

6:50 Goodyear Supercushion WW will work fine on the freeway and handle better around town.

I wouldn't put radials on those old rims, there's too much side force and people are blowing rims.  Also, the suspension isn't built for them.

    Aftermarket rims are an option.

I had radials on my 49 the first thousand miles, took them off and have over 10 K with them.  Much better all around including 1200 mi trip to Detroit.

Uncle Josh where did you get the 6:50 Supercushion white walls?

One more thing to consider on the 650 size is storing the spare. The extra width will be a tight fit in the trunk.

I'm not sure that the Supercushions are available in the 16" size you'd need.  The Deluxe All-Weathers come in 6.00 x 16 and 6.50 x 16.  The 6.50's have an overall dimension of 29.41 inches so you can measure your trunk (or fender well!) to see if they'd fit.

    My 49 takes the 7.10 - 15.  I got the Super Cushions 4 1/4 WW from Lucas
