great idea! Darn Why didn't I think of that? Maybe I'll use two of the rear sedan ones just to be different. Electric wiring is a challenge! Maybe use a mercury switch to keep the lights off when the top is down.0

FYI
Gteat Idea using dual lights, but either way, no problem since only lights when opening door or turn On ....Just fish a Hot wire thru Bow then lnsure enough slack when Top is Up.......(I used an insulated wire to prevent any chafing)

Additional rear light: I installed LED lights {12 V ,white, 1/2" apart, molded--eBay} in the foot rest area that come on with the side courtesy lights. A very simple job.

Actually on the 54 converts they had a rear dome light. Not on the 48-53's though. If you have a 48-54 body manual they show it on the wiring diagram.0
