1937 Hudson Terraplane Coupe Hood Ornament Wanted

image
I'm looking for the original "carrot" hood ornament that came on my 1937 Hudson Terraplane.    I have the original, but the "carrot" is broken.

The carrot can be turned from solid transparent red acrylic rod.

Or, you can just buy one from Eshelman's:  http://partsbyemc.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=97

(Note: if buying the Eshelman one, just check the dimensions on your old one before buying.  They are saying that this will fit both 1936 and 37. I have no reason to doubt that, but the two ornaments are different, and you should verify that the plastic is the same for both.

The illustration is incorrect, in that the single-winged bird is for the 1935 Terraplane, and the winged "carrot" is for the 1936 Hudson and Terraplane.  The 1934 hexagonal Terraplane badge is the last time the hexagon was used as far as I know.

I carved this flag and 'carrot' from wood before I found a good flag and plastic one
  • Thanks for the info everyone - Looks like Eshelman's is going to be my hero today.
