I've heard that Fastenal will ship large items very inexpensively, if dropped off at their nearest outlet. Company trucks deliver the item to the outlet nearest your destination, and the recipient must pick the item up there. It's cheap but not terribly convenient if you want door to door service. But they do ship large items, which you can strap to a wooden pallet.

I've received quotes from Fastenal before and they are MUCH more reasonable than most carriers. A note though....you don't deal with the stores to arrange shipping, you need to coordinate through their 3PL (3rd Party Logisitcs) service to get a quote. The 3PL folks basically set everything up and then you drop the item and the designated store that you selected during your quote process. https://www.fastenal.com/en/22/third-party-logistics-(3pl);jsessionid=2832DF7BA75BCC03E30EC31D9C9BD07F.fcomjvm020

Fastenal is great--I have sent and received body parts and an engine thru them--very reasonable and easy to deal with.0
