Machine Shop for 1910 Hudson water pump
Ok, I need to locate a good machine shop in the Southern California that will re manufacture the shaft and impeller for my 1910 Hudson water pump. Does anyone know of a place? The pump has been repaired before and they used an odd mechanical attachment for the impeller. Well it did not hold and now the impeller turns freely on the shaft. Needless to say it does not pump much water that way. Also the packing glands leak because the shaft is getting a bit pitted so the entire assembly could do with a refresh. These brass era cars are new to me so I don't have my resource list built up yet.
Thanks for the help. Jay

You might call Dave Kostansek (he's listed in the National roster) in Ohio, and ask what he does about such things. He's restored several Hudsons of that era and might be able to put you onto a good machinist.

I have tried to call Dave on a number of occasions but I have not connected with him yet. Also there has to be a good shop in Southern California somewhere?

Thanks for the suggestions. Apparently Egge Machine rebuilds pumps back to 1900. So since they about 30 mins away (on a good traffic day) I am going to take the pump to them for a look.
