Remove antenna base?

How can I remove the pot metal base of the antenna that the shaft is held by. I tried to 

knock out what looks like a pin running through it, but had no success.

Want to get base off to have it rechromed. May have to drill that pin out I guess.

Yes Joe used to make them, don't know if he still does.  I have one on my 50C8 and looks great.
