Hudson electric fuel pump
This was in a box of Hudson bits and pieces that was given to me recently. I'm told it was a trunk/boot mounted option in the 30s and 40s in place of the mechanical fuel pump. It was aimed at those who used their cars at high altitude and/or used them infrequently in cold areas.
