Hi all , I'm new here so if I have placed this in the wrong place then please let me know ,, I have recently purchased a Terraplane, I was told it is a 1936 model ,maybe, but it also came with a lot of part that I don't want or need, there is virtually a complete engine, disassembled, starter motor, cylinder heads and various front end components that I won't be using, so if you know of anyone that can use these parts please let me know, they can have them for free or swap me a bonnet emblem would be nice, but either way they are there for the taking. I am in Nowra NSW Australia cheers Davo.

There is a Hudson club in Austalia, you might want to contact them http://www.hudson-amc.org.au/

thanks guys, I will be spreading everything out next weekend and taking photos,, some of the front of the car as well so you guys who know what you are taking about can identify it , I certainly can't , the car came from a paddock in country Victoria, in pieces , I left that bit out , sorry, I just thought I would see if anyone was interested in any of it , I don't want it to go to waste if someone can use it , thank you all again and I will post the photos next weekend,,I know it's Christmas ,but restoration waits for no man. cheers0

A serial number would verify the model year of the car. In the late thirties this number was stamped into a small plate on the right side (that's the "passenger side" here in the States!) front door pillar (just below the windshield). A mating number would have been stamped into the top of the rear axle housing (again, on your right side, as you sit in the car) and into the frame (again on the right, and up near where the front axle passes beneath the frame).

thanks Jon i'll check for that also, you guys have been very helpful. cheers0
-
PS -- if the front door hinges from the BACK it's a 1936 or earlier. If hinge is at FRONT, it's a 1937 or later.

Definitely hinges from the back and i couldn't see any numbers in the places you suggested but ill check the diff housing on the weekend. Cheers0

This is what a 1936 Terraplane (sedan) looks like. The 1937 looks similar (but actually no body parts are interchangeable). The 1936 front doors open from the front; the 1937 doors open from the rear (as most cars do nowadays).

Hi guys, here are the pictures of the parts that I have , there is also a radiator not pictured, also the fuel tank can go as well, the diff housing is included also, but the springs and the stabiliser bar are not. There are also a couple of pictures of my car, such as it is, and the front to help with identification. Please bear in mind that these parts are as I got them, so I don't know of their workable condition, hence the reason they are free. If you have something to trade that would be good also but it doesn't matter either way I just want it all gone asap. I have some plastic tubs and bins to put all the bits into, they also go with it, if you believe that it is all not really any good please let me know and I will just take it all to the scrap yard but I just thought that it may of been of use to somebody. If you need to ask any questions you can call me on 0423098775, cheers Dave.0

1936 Hudsons were the only ones with the oval speedo in the centre of the dash. Makes it quick and easy to identify this year. I see the motor is a 1936 also. Note the round exhaust ports. Car will look good when finished. I suggest you talk to as many 36 owners as possible to save your time and money in your restoration. Regards0
-
Davo, I have had cheaper and good shipping service with www.interparcel.com.au/. Regards Barry
