Not necessarily an expert but have restored and driven mine for many years. Been on the road since 1981. What type of advice/info do you need??

HOW HARD IS IT TO GET ENGINE PARTS ? I KNOW IT HAS A AFTERMARKET FAN ON THE CAR SOMETHING ABOUT A WATER JACKET THAT HAS BEEN ALTERED. I HAVE NOT SEEN A TERRAPLANE 8 CYLINDER BEFORE AND NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SOURCING PARTS . THANKS0

It is a challenge! Some internals interchange with Hudson 8"s up to 1952. If there are specific items needed, place a request here and on the HET club website.0

With Hudsons, there is not one big "source" company where you can buy everything, like for antique Fords and Chevies. Instead, there are a bunch of Hudson suppliers each of which specializes mostly in one thing (engine gaskets, engine parts, clutches, rubber seals, etc.). The following two companies might or might not have the engine parts, but if they don't they might know where you could go (or if there is an interchange to other makes, or newer Hudsons): http://www.hudsonmotorcarco.com/ http://wildrickrestorations.com/ but these are just two of many examples. Here and there, you can still find original engine parts on dusty shelves. There are antique car suppliers who make new custom pistons, and supply other parts. With things like connecting rods, you can get them re-babbited.
Best thing would be to contact fellow '33 owners to ask where they get parts, you can do that through the Hudson club's roster. The 1933 Terraplane eight was a one-year deal but there are a lot of them still running around, so someone must know where to get parts!

Having owned one of these beasts for 50 years, mechanical parts interchange with a lot of other Hudson products and even some other makes, body parts , forget it, few and far between. Not a lot were made and a lot did not survive, because of being raced to death. most of the survivors were convts. and 4 doors. they were a car into themselves.0

I have a 33 that a 52 or 53 8 was installed. I haven't had much time to work on and see what's been done. I'm accually thinking about selling it since I'm building another one as a hot rod.0
