Unknown opening in the 52 Hornet firewall

I noticed this afternoon a hole through the firewall behind the glovebox and to the right of the Ranco valve. You can see the hole in the below picture. I am curious what this is for and what hose or wire is intended to go through this opening. Thanks.

Or the drain tube for the vent?

Could it be for the wireing harness on a right hand drive car?

Exactly. It was likely the hole for the rubber tube grommit.
