Power Brake Question

Hi everyone,

We have a '54 Hornet in which the previous owner had installed a Bendix Treadle-Vac power brake unit but he never installed a vacuum reserve tank.  So, I want to do that.  I obtained a nice tank from Don Crane and I just want to be sure about the installation.  It seems that all you do is run a vacuum hose from the check valve on the compensator tube to the tank and then run another hose from the outlet of the tank to the power brake unit.  Is that it or is there more to it?  It's not really covered in the Mechanical Procedure Supplement for '53-'54.  Thanks.

    That should do it.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the photo and the confirmation.  I appreciate it.  By the way, love those "golden" carbs.  How did you get them to look like that?  Very cool.

    Tim,

I had Daytona Parts rebuild them a few years ago.  They anodized them during the rebuild process but stopped offering it a year or two ago.  Someone told me that they don't rebuild carburetors any more either, they just sell rebuild kits.
