It that's so, there is a '56 radio on Ebay now that you might want to look into. Good price! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-hudson-radio-coupe-convertible-sedan-/361938047398?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275
Here's a '54 radio offered here on the forum about 1-1/2 years ago: http://openforum.hetclub.org/discussion/167561/i-have-a-1954-hudson-radio-2-speakers-chrome-trim-pcs-correct-brackets-knobs-etc-for-salehttp://

I believe the 1953 thru 1955 radios are the same, however, when they switched to 12v in 1956, they then began using the same radio as the 55 & 56 Nash/

Yep, I miswrote. Steve said the '54 through early '55 were the same, not '56. Not sure about '53.0

I might still have a '54, $10 plus shipping.

Doug thanks. Ken Kates had a couple at $10. If they don't work out I will drop you a line.
