Timing Cover Seal Spacer
As part of my 262 rebuild, I pulled the old crank gear and timing seal spacer. The old one was pressed on but the new one just slips on and spins easily. Should I be concerned about this or will the harmonic balancer hold it tight against the crank gear? If the harmonic balancer will hold it, should I put and sealer on the insider portion to prevent oil leaking from the center?
thanks,
Rich

No seal necessary, the pulley nut will hold everything together.

Great, thanks Geoff. Just three me a curve when I had to press the last two on previous engines.0

Good point Ken. I think the fit is good on it. I have to put it on perfectly square for it to slide on the crankshaft. I was just surprised I was able to rotate the ring after it was on.0
