When I pulled the engine and hydramatic tranny out of our 54 hornet i must have grabbed the lever that is swedged to thinge inside of side pan. the tranny is j or h54 number on side. What I want to know is there an other year of hydramatic that will fit our tranny. Ray

You can weld or pin the two pieces back together. I had to do that on my H52. Pulling the Hydro valve body and disassembling it is not too bad. I have a H51 valve body from a trashed Hydro you're welcome too, but I'm not sure it's a direct swap. Single vs Dual range Hydramatics.0

In either direction? T-Valve could be stuck in its bore. Picture is of the throttle rod in its neutral position, spring should act as it rotates ~10° clockwise. It's been awhile since I've had mine in-car, so anyone out there let me know if I'm wrong.
