Help with 46 heater removal
Can anyone help with some advice how to remove the heater core, cowl vent etc from a 46 Hudson pickup.
I have removed the fan assembly but the housing containing the heater core seems stuck in place after removing the bolts on the firewall. It seems the cowl vent has to be removed but not sure how to disassemble this.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Believe the heater box is welded in place. Heater core comes out after removing the heater hose nipples. Original ones are short galvanized pipe. Should unscrew.
I left the vent assembly in place.
Good luck,

The vent assembly is installed with spot welds and I believe some rivets (been a little while since I've pulled it). I took mine out due to the need for some metal repair but if it's really not in that bad of shape, I would follow suit with Ric and just keep it in place.

Thanks for the advice. Will take another look at the pipes coming through the firewall and see if I can unscrew them. They did not appear to be galv but will check. Thanks again.0
