35 H8 fuel tank diff clearance
I've just finishing making a stainless steel fuel tank for my 35 H8 project and I've done the first trial fit on the car.
The 35 H8 tank is similar to the Terra tank in height and length across the car but its about 2" bigger front to back which I can now see puts the front of the tank perilously close to the back of the diff.
Not a biggie, I can take a scallop out of the front of the tank to provide more clearance, I was wondering if Hudson also did that?

Hi Bob. Which model are you talking about.
I could check for you tomorrow if you like.
I'm just working on the chassis of my coupe before I put it back together.

Thanks Trevor, the car has a 117" wheelbase, so its either a Special or a DeLuxe, I made the tank 16 1/2" front to back to suit the mounting points.
Fuel tank porn. Its important to get the curved corners right so that the tank will correctly fit the chassis. Absent a dead 35 H8 tank to copy I used the small 34/5 Terra tank as a template for the corners. I also made the new tank 2" deeper while I was at it.
In tank pump.

Hi Bob.
I have just the bare chassis at the moment with the tank out. Obviously my car being the coupe is also 117 inch wheel base. I will bolt in the tank and take a picture for you if that helps.
Regards
Trevor
