    You can use any Step-down starter on the Jet.   May make it a bit easier to find one.

    Works the other way too. I put a Jet starter on a 54 Hornet for a temporary fix then forgot it. It's out there somewhere!   (Hydra-Matic )   LOL

    Oops, I take back what I said about Step-down  starters.   They do fit the 202, but you won't be able to get the dip-stick out!   Sorry 'bout that chief!!!

    I think i was lucky on my swap. The 54 Hornet had power brakes and a dip stick extension tube with a longer dip stick.

    Dave, the Jet starter is shorter, so would fit fine on the  Hornet.

    So to re-cap, 254, 262 and 308 starters will not fit the 202 motor.Tthey will physically bolt into place, but you will not be able to remove the dipstick.    However the 232 starter will fit.   '50  232 starters had the solenoid attached to the starter.

    Duh ! I had it bass ackwards.. By the way i love your tech articles in the WTN. They are the highlight for me.
