36 & 37 212 engine

I see that a 1936 212 engine has less power than the 1937 version. I think it said because the intake was smaller.
So the questions is, would a 37 intake  fit on the 36 and would it improve the HP? Is there anything else that could be done to the 36 engine to get more hp short of new cams etc.

No, the manifolds are not interchangeable. You could fit a short stroke head (1938-42), to give you a significant compression gain.
