Number conumdrum
I have a eight cylinder motor here, with a raised centre head, water pump on the head, water inlet under the jacket, which all point to '34-'35, yet the number is 2464, the casting number 150001, and the date says J95. This would indicate October 1935 as the casting date, but the rest of the numbers make no sense. any thoughts?

#150001 is a 1936 casting. Looks like someone added a 1935 head. Friend had a Railton with 36 block and he ran 35 head for many years.0

Ric, you are so right! Upon inspection, there are two bolts in the front of the block where the original '36 water pump bracket would have be been bolted on. Someone went to a lot of effort to change the centre row of studs, and transplant the water jacket.0
