Terraplane owners book for 1938

I'm probably missing the place to download one because I'd be surprised if it wasn't here someplace. I never thought about it until I decided to change the oil in my splasher six and it occurred to me that I had no idea how much oil to get.

Flathead six, which I presume is the 212. Thanks for the link, I'll either find what I need or be knowledge enriched in other ways!  Looks like a good place to start.

    Thanks

My 39 has a 212. Refill is 4 1/2 quarts. System holds a total of 5 1/2. Not sure if 38 is the same or not but I cant see why it wouldn't be. Maybe another 38 owner will jump in with exact info. Best of luck David

Thanks, that will get me close. The dip stick will have the final word. I just needed to know it wasn't something like 7 or 8 quarts.

Probably more like mine at 4.5 or maybe 5. Have you joined the HET club? If not please consider it as you will find a local chapter and we are always happy to help in any way we can. What part of the country are you in ?

You didn't mention whether you'd successfully found your manual.  At the Club's website is a rather large library of downloadable owners', parts and shop manuals, not to mention vintage service bulletins and sales literature. http://www.hetclub.org/
In order to get full benefit of the website you will need to register, which is free for all Club members.  One of the items is a complete, 1934-38 (I believe) shop manual.  There is certainly a 1938 Terraplane owner's manual.  So, if you're not already a member of the national club, you may find it helpful to join.
  • Yes, I did get the owners book on my laptop. My fone doesn't play nice with .PDF files. Thanks
