Photos/info wanted on ’53 hornet w/twin-h decals, tags and placement

Hi – I’m looking for info and photos to show the correct decals/tags and their correct location in the engine compartment, body, etc – I have been able to see many of these decals and tags online and in person, but sometimes they vary, as does their location – some of these are obvious, but it would be great to get a definitive resource - thanks!

  • Which tags?  All of them?  The Twin H emblem goes on the center of the trunk, above the lock mechanism for 52-53.  For 54 it goes on the bottom left.  At least on the 54, there are 3 holes in the trunk frame that correspond perfectly to where the prongs would go, so I image a 53 has similar holes in the center?  Also keep in mind that many of the Twin H setups were installed at the dealerships as upsells (as opposed to factory installed), so slight variations could be possible.
  • thanks - this is for the engine compartment and door jamb areas - thanks again
  • I am unaware of any Twin H decals/tags other than the trunk, and the air cleaners of course.
  • yes, there are air filter (many types) and oil filter decals - there are also decal(s) on the radiator, tag on the radiator filler, hydramatic decals, oil fill cap, radiator pressure decal, patent decal, etc - the door jamb tags have vin numbers, where made etc - here are a bunch of decals and tags - http://www.wrphet.com/decals---misc.html - i am looking for photos of these decals, tags, placement - hope this makes more sense - thanks
  • Oh sorry, I thought you meant specifically just the Twin H related ones.

Typically the diecast "Twin H" emblem is above the trunk lock of a '53 stepdown.  But, Hudson dealer, Edward Mutto Auto Sales, Inc., of Belleville, IL, decided to put it to the right of the trunk emblem on my '53 Super Wasp.  Perhaps they thought that would balance with the "Mutto" emblem on the left side.
  • hi guys - please no more emblems :s - just decals and tags - just open your hood, take those shots, and post online - thanks
