Accelerator Pedal

I am about to install a new rubber ball socket on the back side of the accelerator pedal on my 1952 Hornet. After cleaning up the backside of the pedal, does anyone have a recommendation of the best type of adhesive to use to attach the rubber socket to the pedal?  Thanks.
