Radio replacement advice

I'm going to be replacing the old Sylvania push button radio in my '53 Super Wasp with a refurbished one I recently purchased on eBay. I'm wondering if there are any things I need to look out for when going about the task or removing and replacing. Someone already mentioned that it may be best to remove the dash speaker to make access easier. Thanks for any advice here! I do have the instructions for initially installing the radio .

Yes removing the speaker makes it a bit easier as the radios are bit bulky. Is your speaker original? If so are you sure it is still working?0

Good point, it may not be working! I thought about this and I was thinking of hooking everything up outside the dashboard just to make sure it's "all systems are go." I also have the optional rear speaker on my Super Wasp.0
