Is this Gasket Needed?
I was reading that there is a very thin gasket which goes between the water pump and the block of my 37 Hudson 6 cyl engine, which mine didn’t have. I had also seen it for sale on Dale Cooper’s site.
My question is, do I really need it? If so, does anyone know it’s thickness & Material type? I’m wondering if I could just find the material locally & cut it.

Cant help with your problem but just an observation.
Is that wire wheel marks? how hard do you press the wheel on.
I would make sure any other surfaces you did that matt to a gasket to help retain fluids are smooth.0 -
Thanks for the tip on thread sealant for the bolts, I didn’t realize they made contact with radiator fluid once installed. I’ll add that to my water jacket bolts which I planned on doing it to. What about the thermostat housing bolts? As you can guess my coolant system is all apart currently but will be working great once back together!0
