I am still having trouble getting my 308ci engine to run. So I am targeting the carb first. The float was too high so I just lowered it but before I put the carb back together I need to know where the little ball bearing/check ball goes. I did not realize there was one in the carb when I turned it on its side and it fell out on the floor. The books I have are not very clear on where this ball goes. Here's a pic of the ball bearing and the top of the carb. Please let me know which number orifice this ball is supposed to go in. Thank you,
Ken

Also, on the underside of the top section of the carb, I noticed there is an opening here "?1". Is there supposed to be a cap on this? Could this be causing my vacuum leak? Is the heat riser tube supposed to connect to the brass fitting I have labeled ?2 ?

Hope this will assist you in determining your parts locations

Thank you! It looks like it's the "Pump Inlet Ball" and it goes in the accelerator pump plunger base.0

Looks like the 5/8" aluminum expansion plug fell out from the bottom of the choke piston well and this may be causing my vacuum leak.

A coin will work in that choke housing. A little file work on the edges and some sealer will get you done the road.0
