Identifying missing pieces on eight engine.

I removed the rebuilt the engine almost 5 years ago now, and due to several unforeseen factors I'm just now able to get back to getting it back into service in the car. I took and saved a lot of pictures but it seems that some files have been lost and I am now on a completely different computer.
I am now needing some help in identifying some of the areas that I can't find pictures of and that seem to need attention.
Mine is the eight cylinder, '50 Commodore.
On the carburetor side (right) side, barely visible below the coil is a mysterious looking opening that looks like it needs some kind of a cover. I have a couple of photos, it shows up right under and to the left of the coil, and up close in the 2nd shot.
Any ideas?

This is the 6cyl version off my 37 coupe before restoration yours will be similar. There are gaskets behind the tube cap & both bolts to keep oil from leaking.0 -
