This car is a Hudson Six, or shorter wb car. It would have come standard with the 175 cid engine, but the engine has been replaced with a 1947 212 cid engine. Both are very similar, but the latter uses the 2 bbl carb and the other is single barrel with less power. There are a few other minor differences. Very nice car.

I was aware of this since it was in the catalog and I had been told so prior o the aution. My initial question was how to be able to find out and identify that very specific engine swap. Please keep in mind I'm not familiar with the various engines and how to identify them.

P.S. I use those heads on all my 3X5's; it provides 10 additional horsepower - a very notable difference.

The car does run indeed perfectly. The engine is a real smooth piece of engineering.
  • What year did Hudson begin using the same number on the engine and as the VIN?
