From a ‘50–what are these items?

I think these may be the last unknown items in my “unidentifiable” pile.  From my 50 Commodore.  Not sure if they should be together, however they were stashed together.  
Anybody?

Spring looks like window crank or door handle esucheon spring. Bracket is half of a piece that mounts at front and below center
of hood latch panel.
