Clutch question
Okay, one for the experts. When I check the finger heights, measuring from the top opening, with packing between the pressure plate and flywheel same thickness as plate, I can get all three fingers at the same height, but when measuring from the top of the finger down to the flywheel surface, they are all over the place. Anyone had this phenomenon?

They're supposed to be checked with the clutch plate installed, with a proper gasket and cover torqued to spec.0

Problem solved. One of the retainers had been turned around. They all had pockets worn in them, but only one turned around, hence the fingers were at different heights. Murphy's law - "If somebody can screw something up, they will" when the retainer is reversed, it presents an unworn surface to the levering surface.0
