Fender welt...

Would my '38 Terraplane have had "welt" at the joints between fenders and body when new?

    In the rear welt goes completely around the rear from fender to fender, but none in the front.

    Hmmm, my 36 has welt between the front fenders and the grill. From restorationspecialties.com, in Wimber, PA

    Yes, my '37 has a gigantic welt between front fenders and grille shell, like Josh's 1936. I believe that may be available from Wildrick Rubber

    Yes, there is a grille shell welt. But, the question was about fender welt - that would be where the fender bolts to the body.

    FYI regarding fender Welt...
    If you want polished Stainless Fender Welt go to Carpenters in Charlotte N.C.. They ship lengths UPS. Its not too hard to bend. so I put it around all 4 fenders on my '37. I seen real Stainless Welt on my '47 Commodore..Stainless Bead looks really nice.......
